America: Freedom To Fascism
I have mentioned this movie to many. It was made by Aaron Russo ("Trading Places" with Eddie Murphy and Dan Akroyd, and "The Rose" with Bette Midler) with his own money and time. No major studio was willing to finance or distribute it.
There were some free screenings around March 2006. The Wife and I attended one and I highly recommend the film to everybody. It released to a few theaters for test screenings on July 28th. Russo pulled the movie out a week later in order to clean it up a bit. The film can be seen through google video and can be downloaded from the America: Freedom to Fascism web site.
CBS critic Todd David Schwartz called the film "The scariest damn film you'll see this year. It will leave you staggering out of the theater, slack-jawed and trembling. Makes 'Fahrenheit 9/11' look like 'Bambi.' After watching this movie, your comfy, secure notions about America – and about what it means to be an American – will be forever shattered."
There is also a blog that is being updated constantly with other information relating to the different subject matter that is discussed in the film.
